To shine your light;

you must first remember you are light

Genesis 1:1-5

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep.

And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, let there be light: and there was light.

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

On March 13th I posted a word entitled “Let your light shine” in correspondence with the start of daylight savings time. This word was inspired by the observation that many of God’s children have hidden their light from the world, had their light dimmed or put out by the world, or have chosen the immediacy of darkness over the work required to cultivate, harness, and amplify their light.

During prayer and mediation this week, the holy spirit brought me back to this post with a word of edification that to let your light shine, you must first know and remember that you are light.

From the very beginning of the recorded accounts of spiritual creative existence in this world, light has been God’s source energy tool of creation bringing awareness and amplification.

And just as God manifested light upon the creation of the world, God has continued to call forth the manifestation of his light through the creation, conception, and birthing of children into this world.

Anyone that has experienced the pregnancy process and has observed an ultrasound before the beginning of the heartbeat and after the heartbeat
begins has witnessed the direct creative evidence of God’s continued use of light as his primary creative tool.

After conception, the union of sperm and ovum, somewhere around the 22nd day or within 8 weeks, the heart is formed, bringing forth our first evidence of life witnessed by the light mirrored on the ultrasound.

I share this as a reminder that from our very beginning of the process of entering life on earth, we are at our core light and power beating to our own rhythm determined good by God.

And upon our birth into the world, the evidence of conscious life was witnessed by our movement and our sound. Movement of our eyes, feet, hands and most often expected, the acknowledgement of our vocal ability to make sound in this world through our first cry.

Just as God spoke (communicated) into existence the world, and just as God moved across the face of the waters and spoke into existence the light of the world; we come into this world as light, moving across the waters of the mother’s womb waiting to be birthed in order to speak and echo our sound and rhythm in this world as only we can.

God did not intend for us to stop being light once we begin life. God’s clear intention for us as tools who continue to create and manifest life through our living, was for us to continue to be and amplify light, bringing awareness of our divinely created existence in this world.

Family,

We were created to be light. We were created to live as evidence of God’s continued creative power in the earth and across all existence. Above
all else, we must remember that our purpose in this world is to dress and keep
our light.

As I wrote in my April 24th word entitled "What are you dressing and keeping", Adam’s assigned job in the garden of Eden was to dress it and keep it. Meaning, to maintain, arrange, set straight and decorate in preparation for God’s shared enjoyment by retaining possession and managing the preservation of God’s creations.

We are God’s beloved creations. We are his light in the world. Just as Jesus Christ was sent into the world to shine the light of salvation for all who would receive.

Therefore, it is our job and responsibility to maintain, retain and preserve our light.

And as Christ has commanded us, it is our shared responsibility to love our brothers and our neighbors as ourselves and as God has loved us.

Therefore, we must support one another in remembering that we are light.

The moment we begin to condemn, shame, dismiss, reject, and bring division among one another we step out of Gods marvelous light into the darkness of this world.

You cannot stand as light while rejecting and demoralizing any of God’s children. You can claim to be light, you can purchase accessories and properties to present yourself as light, but when you are casting children out of churches and homes because of the spiritual warfare reality of sexual orientation and gender identity, when you are rejecting returning citizens from
being accepted back into community, when you are looking down on the poor, when you are preaching hate, racism and shame, you are not standing in God’s
marvelous light.

God is calling all his children, his houses, his families, his nations to step out of the condemnation of this world and shine the pure light of God again into the world, so that those that are lost may see themselves in and through God and Christ.

If you trust in the spirit of God to be God; then you also trust that when the true light of God shows up on the seen all can be restored and made whole. And if God has been able to receive and utilize many within the “church’ as you were, whoremongering, fornicators, fathers of children out of marriage, thieves, and liars, I know certain he is ready to receive his children who have had the courage to fight their fight in the light of day not hiding that which was put upon them.

Children of God, remember you are first light and God has yet to bring forth the night. So, stand in your light, reject the declaration of war cast upon you through condemnation and shine your light forward.
